LOÏC VARANGUIEN DE VILLEPIN
Biography
Loïc Varanguien de Villepin is initiated to Butô by Ryuzo at The Paris Maison des Arts and by Yoshito Ohno in Japan. He also participated to dance practical trainings with Claudia Triozzi, Loïc Touzé and Catherine Contour in France.
These five last years, as an actor in theater, he played
- in Copi’s “ Les Quatre Jumelles” and “Crave” by Sara Kane, directed by Christine Monlezun.
- in “Leçon de Tenebres” by François Couperin, a performance directed by Audrey Joussain.
- in three creations with Elie Briceno :

“Une mouche” by Hanok Levin
« Ursonnate » de Kurt Schwitters by Le Collectif Décompose - in « Vaudeville » by Christophe Bergon
- in « Chutes » et « Nacht » by Franck Vigroux.
His practice of opera/classical singing as a contralto, little by little leads him to work on his voice as a performer artist, even sometimes as a noise maker in several groups of experimental music.
He is touring France to present two electro-vocal performances :
« 2 » with Benjamin Wünsch and « La Copule » with Matthieu Guillin.
In Ariege (France) since 2015 he is the director of The Bazis Artist Residence. Artists of performance, of dance are invited to practice their art in rural areas to promote a cultural dynamic in the Pyrenees territory.
